Why Hunter Biden’s marriage could be in trouble

After a troubled first marriage and a turbulent divorce from ex-wife Kathleen Buhle, the President’s son Hunter Biden has had a whirlwind romance with now-wife Melissa Cohen. Hunter and Cohen met through a mutual friend in May 2019 and married just six days later, per ABC News. “I fell in love with her straight away. And then every day I fell in love with her more,” he told the outlet at the time.

He wasn’t kidding about their quick crush — they had matching tattoos within a week of meeting and were quietly wed in their apartment a few days later. Though none of their families attended the small ceremony, Hunter’s father, President Joe Biden, reportedly thanked Cohen over the phone for “giving my son the courage to love again.”

Fairytale romance aside, Hunter’s life has been plagued by the ongoing federal investigation into his past business ventures abroad. According to CNN sources, as of late July, the investigation, being conducted by the US Attorney’s Office in Delaware and dating back to 2018, has reached a “critical stage”. With prosecutors reportedly considering tax violation charges against Hunter, the weight of the investigation could affect his married life.

Hunter Biden and Melissa Cohen are reportedly being stifled by constant surveillance

Trouble in lockdown paradise for Hunter Biden and Melissa Cohen? As revealed by Page Six sources recently, both Hunter and his wife were “frustrated” by the constant Secret Service surveillance imposed on them by the federal investigation. Hunter, Cohen and their son Beau Biden Jr. have been isolating at their Malibu rental home while investigations into Hunter’s overseas dealings continue, according to the outlet. Reportedly always followed by Secret Service agents whenever they leave the property, the Secret Service allegedly even rented a villa next door to theirs.

A source close to the couple told Page Six, “They’re not going anywhere because they’ve been told to stay out of sight and away from the cameras.” For Cohen, the insider claimed the honeymoon period is definitely over. “He knocked her off her feet. She thought she was going to marry a prince from a large American family,” the source said. “But the reality is he’s a train wreck and life with him behind closed doors is very hard.” However, the source added, “There’s still love there.”

Of course, turbulent marriages are something Hunter knows all too well. His 24-year-old ex-wife, Kathleen Buhle, published her memoir about their hardships, If We Break: A Memoir of Marriage, Addiction, and Healing, in 2021. a reporter in June: “I’ve lost the sense of who I am,” per MSNBC.
