Jenelle Evans had a long tenure at MTV before she left. The mother-of-three made her debut in 16 and Pregnant when she was expecting her first son, and her story (and, of course, all the drama that went with it) was so resonant with audiences that she chose her for the second Season was tapped from “Teen Mom”.
We watched Evans grow up before our eyes and witnessed many of her struggles in life, including her involvement in troubled romantic relationships, her heroin addiction, her experience with abortion, her series of run-ins with the law, and more. In 2018, Evan’s husband David Eason was fired from the network after his past homophobic tweets resurfaced. “David Eason’s personal comments do not reflect the views of MTV,” the network said a statement. “After six weeks of production on ‘Teen Mom 2,’ we are ending our relationship with him effective immediately.”
That same year, Evans expressed frustration at not being able to take on projects because she had a contract with MTV. “Got lots of offers from lots of different people, but you have to turn them down when you’re tied to a contract. #Angry”, she tweeted back then. Little did she know that a year later she would receive the same treatment as her husband.
Jenelle Evans has been fired from the show
After David Eason was fired, Jenelle Evans admitted she wasn’t very keen on filming the show without him. The split from her husband apparently put a strain on their relationship, and Evans wondered if it was still worth continuing to star on the show if it put her personal life in jeopardy. “I have to talk to MTV about what the future holds,” she said (via Us Weekly). “When a teen mom couple goes traveling, they bring whoever they are married to and I don’t have that option and I don’t feel comfortable with it. It causes problems.”
However, it’s unclear whether or not she was able to voice her concerns, as the network cut all ties with her when it was reported that Eason had shot her dog. “MTV ended its relationship with David Eason over a year ago in February 2018 and has not filmed any new episodes of ‘Teen Mom 2’ with him since then,” a rep told The Wrap. “Also, we wrapped up filming with Jenelle Eason on April 6, 2019 and have no plans to cover her story in the upcoming season.”
While she was devastated by her firing, Evans admitted she was expecting it. “I was a little shocked, but I saw it coming,” she confessed to Us Weekly. “It’s still shocking, but I respect her decision and have nothing but love for MTV.”
Jenelle Evans will not be returning to Teen Mom
Ever since Jenelle Evans left Teen Mom 2, there has been some speculation that she would eventually return. In April 2020, she even revealed that she had spoken to a producer to discuss her future plans. “My old producer… asked for updates [on] my life,” she told InTouch Weekly at the time.[He wanted me] even sending him videos of my daily routine with the kids in Tennessee. I was told they were considering dressing me again.” But when she told them she was moving to North Carolina, the show stopped reaching out.
Now that Teen Mom: The Next Chapter is underway, fans can’t help but wonder if Evans would be a part of it. But Evans himself has revealed that you won’t see her on the show. Apparently, she couldn’t reach a mutually beneficial agreement with MTV. “I ALONE have decided to decline the terms of the agreement to pursue other career opportunities and promote based on the terms,” she shared with People, adding that there were “no hard feelings” and that she gave the cast “great vibes.” ” send.
However, she does not close doors. “There may or may not be further discussion on this,” revealed her manager August Keen. “Right now, we’re definitely not doing the show. They must come to us with a much better deal.” She is also reportedly working on another project, but her team is keeping a low profile on the details. “She has a new dynamic series in development and is keeping the concept under wraps for now,” added Keen.
