Slim 400, a 33-year-old rapper, was shot and killed in California. According to the New York Post, the rapper was a budding hip-hop talent on the West Coast.
Vincent Cohran, often known as Slim 400, was born and raised in Compton, California. On December 8, he was shot in Inglewood, a city south of Los Angeles. An inquiry is in progress, but no information on what could have caused the deadly event has yet surfaced. As of the time of writing, no arrests in the case have been made.
A few hours after posting an Instagram screenshot of the “Shake Back” song’s cover art, highlighting his collaboration with fellow rapper Young Dolph, Slim 400 was murdered and killed. According to ABC News, Dolph was tragically murdered in his native Memphis in November. Slim 400 had been shot previously, so sadly, he was familiar with gun violence.
Slim 400 felt “blessed” to be alive
The rapper was shot nine times in June 2019 but recovered after a difficult operation. Slim 400 had disclosed that a family member had endangered themselves by bringing him inside and away from the gunshots. Later, he used Instagram to display the wounds he had sustained.
In an interview with Vlad TV, he remarked, “I just feel that when you intend to be here and God has a purpose for you, it ain’t no stoppin’ it.” I fell to the ground, believing it to be over. My relatives came out, talked to me, dragged me into the house while they were still firing, and kept me alive. ” I just feel like I’m grateful simply to be here,” he said, “because I could have just passed away then and there.” He also expressed his gratitude to the hospital personnel for their excellent treatment.
Slim was born in Frankfurt, Germany, to military parents who were stationed there before relocating to the United States as a young child. He started rapping, was found by the now-defunct music company “Pu$haz Ink,” and went on to become known as YG (Young Gangsta) and DJ Mustard. In 2016, he even worked with Travis Scott. Slim 400 apparently had a reclusive life in terms of his personal affairs, but we do know he is survived by a daughter called Parris.
