Pawn Stars’ “Old Man” Richard Harrison dead at 77

“Old Man” off pawn stars passed away.

Richard Harrison, co-owner of the Gold & Silver Pawn Shop in Las Vegas, died on Monday, June 25, 2018, his son Rick Harrison announced. Sharing a photo of his father on Instagram, Rick wrote, “Richard Benjamin ‘The Old Man’ Harrison passed away this morning surrounded by his loved ones. He will be greatly missed by our family, the team at Gold & Silver Pawn and his many fans around the world.”

Rick continued, “He was my hero and I was lucky enough to have a very cool ‘old man’ as my dad I’m grateful to have experienced with him.” He added, “He lived a very fulfilling life and was touching through the historic television show ‘Pawn Stars’, the lives of people around the world and teaching them the value of loving one’s family, hard work and humor We value everyone’s thoughts and prayers and ask us something at this time privacy is afforded.”

As noted by TMZ, Richard, who was a Navy veteran, opened Gold & Silver Pawn Shop in the early 1980’s after moving to Las Vegas. He co-owned the store with his son Rick. His grandson Corey “Big Hoss” Harrison and Corey’s sidekick Austin “Chumlee” Russell also worked with him at the pawn shop. The four men became the central characters of the popular History Channel show pawn starswhich debuted in 2009.

At the time of writing this article, details of Richard’s death are unclear. He was 77 years old.
