Lizzo shares a rare glimpse into her romance with boyfriend Myke Wright

Lizzo is known for being outspoken and fierce – first of all, she’s a proud advocate of body positivity and a staunch supporter of the LGBTQIA+ community. The “Cuz I Love You” singer isn’t afraid of gaining weight either; She owns her fabulousness and celebrates her curves. “I feel like fat is the worst thing people can say about me at this point,” Lizzo told Apple Music’s Zane Lowe. “[It’s like], ‘How dare a pop star be fat?’ I had to admit that to myself.” However, she is aware of how much progress there still needs to be in terms of the acceptance of black plus-size women not only in the industry but also in everyday life. “We still have a long way to go,” she says.

With so much attention being paid to the singer’s performing life, it’s no wonder rumors about her dating life have surfaced. In November 2021, Lizzo sparked dating rumors of being in a same-sex relationship with Sophia Eris after posting a TikTok of them dancing together, per HITC. “Finally I can introduce you to the love of my life,” she commented on the video. She continued to fuel the rumor flames after a follower asked her what her fans should be called. “Lizzbians,” she tweeted.

Though she refuses to be labeled and put in a proper social box, Lizzo told Variety that she’s “heterosexually inclined.” She said growing up had few identity options, and she fully embraces the LGBTQIA+ rainbow. “I think it’s unfair to human existence to limit the range of what you’re sexually capable of,” Lizzo said. Now she has shared a rare glimpse into her romance with boyfriend Myke Wright.

Lizzo knows her boyfriend Myke Wright is the real deal

Lizzo made a big public move with boyfriend Myke Wright when the pair officially went Insta. In June 2022, the singer and comedian posed together at an event in support of her Amazon Prime series Watch Out for the Big Grrrls. Lizzo added a cute pic of them to her Insta and a caption celebrating what a “boss a** b**ch” she is.

Since her social debut, Lizzo has slowly opened up about the relationship with her new boo. She admitted it was “different” with Wright because he knew her before she was famous. As such, unlike some other potential lovers, she trusted his intentions and motivations to be pure. “We were friends. It was different from when they knew you before 2019,” Lizzo said in an interview with The Breakfast Club radio show. “I think I was headed for a really lonely, anxious place in my life, especially after I became a celebrity,” she said of the time before she started dating Wright.

Lizzo admitted her new man was “fun” and went on to share that while she finds monogamy “a little claustrophobic,” she has never hesitated to go all out with Wright. “It’s like I just love you. I’m not worried about anyone else,” she explained. “I think that’s what we have, that’s the most beautiful thing there is in its purest form.”
