Landon Barker shares a vulnerable update on his mental health

The son of Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker, Landon Barker found success in life from a young age. The 18-year-old social media influencer followed in his sister’s Alabama footsteps and co-designed a clothing line, per E! News. Landon has teamed up with boohooMAN to create clothing inspired by his everyday look and style. The drummer’s son also found love with one of today’s biggest TikTok stars, Charli D’Amelio.

The musician and Charli sparked romance rumors when they were spotted at a concert together, per People, and fueled those rumors when they appeared to be getting tattoos together. They were also spotted leaving a party together for their sister Dixie D’Amelio’s debut album.

“It’s very low key,” a source told Us Weekly in June. “They enjoy hanging out and getting to know each other.” The insider said they “supported” each other’s life successes, like Charli supporting the launch of Landon’s clothing line and Landon supporting Charli’s older sister Dixie’s music. But for all his success and the sudden spotlight on his new relationship, Landon took to social media to share a personal update about his life.

Landon Barker talks about derealization and OCD

Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker was hospitalized in early July. The musician, who is married to Kourtney Kardashian, has released an update on the health crisis Twitter. “I had a very small polyp removed right in a very sensitive area,” said the drummer. “This led to severe life-threatening pancreatitis.” Following Travis’ health update, his son recently took to Instagram to speak out about his own health — specifically his mental health.

“My derealization has been really bad and I just want to come here and tell everyone it’s you [sic] not alone and we are all imperfect in our own ways,” Landon told his Instagram followers in his story (via Page Six). “I love you. #mentalhealthawareness.” The 18-year-old TikTok star also shared slideshow graphics about derealization and OCD, or obsessive-compulsive disorder, and updated his followers on what he’s going through sometimes. According to WebMD, derealization is “a mental state in which you feel disconnected from your environment.”

Landon isn’t the only young celebrity struggling with mental health issues. In mid-July, singer-songwriter Shawn Mendes had to cancel the rest of his tour due to mental health issues. “It’s become clearer that I need to take the time that I’ve never taken in person to ground myself and come back stronger,” he said in a statement posted to Instagram.
