How Vanessa Bryant honors Kobe and Gigi after their big legal win

Vanessa Bryant recently won a lawsuit against Los Angeles County following the tragic deaths of her husband Kobe Bryant and daughter Gianna in a 2020 helicopter crash, per TMZ. Bryant’s lawsuit centered on fears that cellphone photos of the victims, wrongly obtained by LA County deputies, would one day become public. A jury of 10 people awarded Bryant $16 million after agreeing she was suffering from emotional distress caused by the images’ existence. The jury found the Los Angeles County sheriff and fire department guilty of violating the family’s constitutional rights by violating their privacy, according to CNN.

After the legal victory, Vanessa posted a selfie of her with Kobe and Gianna on Instagram and captioned the post: “All for you! I love you! JUSTICE for Kobe and Gigi! #Betonyourself #MambaDay 8•24•22 [purple and gold heart emojis] #MambaMentality.” Per CNN, Bryant’s attorney Luis Li released a statement after the verdict, saying, “This case was always about accountability. And now the jury has spoken unanimously.”

The jury also awarded $15 million to Christopher Chester, a man who lost his wife and daughter in the tragic helicopter crash. While Los Angeles County attorneys disagreed with the verdict, it is clear that the families involved received justice for their loved ones. Now, years after the tragedy, Vanessa Bryant just announced a new way she will honor both Kobe and Gigi.

Vanessa Bryant is launching a new jewelry line celebrating Kobe and Gigi

On Mamba Day, August 24th, Vanessa Bryant announced via Instagram a new line of jewelry that will raise money for the Mamba and Mambacita Foundation. In a photo of one of the featured bracelets, Bryant wrote, “The limited-edition capsule will be available for one month and 100% of proceeds will benefit the Mamba and Mambacita Foundation, which is dedicated to creating positive impact for underserved athletes and boys and girls in sport.” .” The jewelry line is a collaboration with LA-based Zoë Chicco Fine Jewelry and is called MAMBACITA x ZC, per People.

Zoë Chicco Fine Jewelry also posted the jewelry collab on Instagram, explaining that the capsule celebrates Kobe and Gigi with meaningful details of their memory engraved on the 14k jewelry, such as “empowering quotes, jersey numbers and symbols.” As well as being personal to the family, the collection is a limited edition with all proceeds going to charity. There is a variety of pieces in the collection for both men and women including rings, ear cuffs, necklaces and bracelets.

The Mamba and Mambacita Foundation keeps Kobe and Gigi Bryant’s legacy alive by providing underserved athletes with opportunities to participate in athletic programs and achieve their dreams.
