It goes without saying that Britney Spears is a music superstar admired by many. Throughout her journey as a pop singer, the ‘Break the Ice’ hitmaker has earned her fair share of accolades that have contributed to her success.
At the 47th Annual Grammy Awards, Spears took home her first Grammy for Best Dance Recording for Toxic. In 2008, the “Crossroads” actress won big, winning three moon men at the MTV Video Music Awards for her “Piece of Me” video. In fact, Spears’ legendary back catalog of videos was so impressive that three years later she received the Video Vanguard Award. In 2013, Spears also launched a Las Vegas residency, Piece of Me, and certainly made an impact on Sin City. As reported by Billboard, she earned over $137 million after selling 916,184 tickets in five years. In a 2011 interview with PopJustice, Spears admitted that she has a “thirst for success,” stating, “I want to constantly outperform the last thing I did.” While record sales, awards, and sold-out tours determine the success of a career Spears insisted she base her own accomplishments on what she has done. “At this point in my career, I’m making music that I enjoy and music that I know my fans will love,” she said.

Britney Spears has topped the charts multiple times
Britney Spears’ debut in the late ’90s was anything but low-key. Her very first single “…Baby One More Time” made the singer known worldwide and is still a pop classic today. In addition to the song topping the UK and Australian charts, “…Baby One More Time” also became Spears’ first No. 1 single on the US Billboard Hot 100, staying there for two weeks.
Since then, the ‘Til the World Ends’ hitmaker has continued to rack up hits including ‘(You Drive Me) Crazy’, ‘Oops! …I Did It Again”, “Toxic” and “(You Drive Me) Crazy”. “Give me more.” While all of these songs remain classics in Spears’ back catalog, many will be surprised to find out that none of them reached #1 in the US, which would not take place until 10 years later. In October 2008, “Womanizer,” the lead single from her “Circus” album, became her long-awaited second No. 1 on the US Billboard Hot 100. However, over the next three years, Spears achieved three more chart-toppers – “3”, ” S&M” with Rihanna and “Hold It Against Me” – bringing her total to five from No. 1 in the US. With a career spanning two decades and a total of five #1 singles on the US Billboard Hot 100, it’s fair to say that Britney Spears earned A-list status and the title “Princess of Pop.” “ well deserved. She not only scored a huge number of hits, but also produced works that fans liked. As of this writing, the Born To Make You Happy hitmaker has released nine studio albums since 1999, the most recent being in 2016. On the US Billboard 200 albums chart, six of those nine albums reached #1, further proving that they are a leading lady of her generation. As noted by Chart Masters, Spears has generated more than 103 million equivalent album sales since taking the stage.
It may be more than half a decade since Spears has released an album, but Spears has reportedly already started planning her return. “It’s very early days and Britney isn’t putting any pressure on herself to release an album or anything right away, but her team is putting out feelers about the prospect of new music,” an inside source told The Sun. “Several people she enjoys collaborating with have been contacted to ask if they would like to work on music with Britney again, and all seem keen to be involved.”
